Anne Meneakis, LCSW

Anne has been working in the mental health profession for over 23 years. She has a broad base of training and professional experience, including individual, couples and group therapy, as well as parent coaching, and mindfulness meditation.

Anne integrates research based mindfulness and interpersonal neurobiology into her practice. Both conceptual frameworks enable us to create a deeper and more compassionate understanding of who we are and how our patterns in relationships develop, while honoring and fostering our innate, resilient capacity to make courageous and lasting changes within ourselves, our lives and our most important relationships - even if those changes seem initially daunting, require leaving behind old patterns that have long held us stuck, or have haunted us by painful memories.

Anne works collaboratively with clients, honoring their unique strengths and knowledge, while tailoring services to fit the particular goals and needs of each person she serves. She is committed to providing respectful, skillful and responsive care with genuine warmth and compassion, mindfulness, humility and humor. She is committed to offering services that respectfully include lesbian and gay clients, and clients of diverse faiths and cultural backgrounds.

About Anne
Anne grew up in the mid-west, and moved to Portland in 1983. She earned her masters degree in clinical social work at Portland State University in 1994. While she pursues as much post graduate training as possible at UCLA, and still longs for lightening bugs, thunderstorms and summer hikes along Lake Superior's shores, Portland is the place she steadfastly calls home. She loves speed-walking and bird watching in Tryon Creek State Park, Nordic skiing near Mt. Bachelor; and loves, loves, loves her family, who thoroughly enjoy gardening, singing to the Gypsy Kings and Luciano Pavarotti in the kitchen, and knitting and reading books aloud together by the fire. In a rare, quiet moment, Anne writes children's stories and opera librettos.
